A bright new mural on the Gateway Pedestrian Bridge on St. Paul’s West Side was unveiled with a celebration Monday. At top, from left, Evelyn Cheng, 9, Amber Cheng, 7, Zoe Cheng-Melo, 3, Eric Cheng, 4, and Rumi Cheng-Melo, 3, climbed along the new artwork, created by Ernesto Ybarra and Xilam Balam. Ellie Leonard-smith, above left, listened to speakers with her children Gray, 7, and North, 3. “I’m proud of my community, it’s a hidden gem,” she said.
